Aston Clinton Parish Council is proud to announce that it has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming its commitment to supporting serving personnel, veterans, reservists, military families and cadet adult volunteers.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated fairly and should never be disadvantaged because of their service.

At its meeting on 16 June 2026, the Parish Council formally resolved to sign the Covenant as a demonstration of its ongoing support for the Armed Forces community.

As part of this commitment, the Parish Council has pledged to:

  • Promote the fact that Aston Clinton Parish Council is an Armed Forces-friendly Council and publicise its Armed Forces Covenant.
  • Continue to maintain the village War Memorial as a lasting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
  • Support the employment of military veterans, reservists, and service spouses and partners.
  • Support events associated with the Armed Forces community, including Remembrance and Armed Forces Week.
  • Encourage support for Armed Forces charities.

The Parish Council is honoured to make these commitments and recognises the valuable contribution made by members of the Armed Forces community, both past and present. A copy of the signed Armed Forces Covenant cah be found on our War Memorial webpage
