2024 Family Festival

Aston Clinton Family Festival 2024

Summer finally arrived, and a large number of visitors to the annual Aston Clinton Family Festival in the park on 8th June enjoyed some wonderful sunny weather at this free community event. This year, in addition to the fairground rides, vintage cars, zorbs, petting zoo, dog show, dance and Zumba demonstrations and music from the balcony of the Red Kite Pavilion, we also included some community, charity and retail stalls – all of which did well with their fundraising efforts. Our local charity partner for the event was Kirby’s Herd, who not only raised a fantastic sum of £1,848 for their great cause, but helped clear up the park afterwards.

These events cannot function without volunteers and apart from the events team at the Parish Council and supporting councillors, we must also thank the following people for their invaluable support: set-up helpers, Daniel, Jon and Ti who assisted stallholders by unloading cars and setting up gazebos; dog show judges, Michelle Burton of Waggy Tails and Carly Hearsum of Clips Dog Grooming for making the hard decisions with so many gorgeous pooches, and sponsoring prizes; our park keeper Ken, for keeping the park tidy, and helping with setting up; and finally, our grateful thanks to the Wendover & Villages Community Board for a grant towards the cost of the event.

Our very artistic poster competition winners from Aston Clinton School were, in the Under 7’s category, George Corns (Winner) and Tilly Saunders (Runner Up), and in the 8-11 years category, Marnie Keegan (Winner) and Harriet Talbot (Runner Up). Each won an Amazon voucher and a framed copy of their poster. Harriet was able to be there in person to collect her prize.
